Bimba Rescues the Lost Ladybug Princess
Chapter 1: Storm in the Garden

Bimba darted through the garden's upper canopy, her compound eyes scanning for the royal convoy. The afternoon had started peacefully—Princess Scarlet's procession traveling from the Rose Court to the Lily Palace—until storm clouds swallowed the sun.
Wind battered her wings as rain pelted down like liquid boulders. Through the chaos, Bimba spotted a fragment of iridescent wing—a royal guard beetle struggling against the current of water cascading down a leaf.
"Where's Princess Scarlet?" Bimba shouted above the storm's roar.
The beetle's antennae drooped. "Lost! Swept toward the Thorn Thicket! We can't navigate those brambles in this weather!"
Bimba's wings hummed to life. The Thorn Thicket—where even dragonflies refused to venture. Her grandmother's voice echoed in her memory: "The thornlands claim more explorers than any predator."
She adjusted her leaf-fragment backpack and shot eastward. Darkness crept across the garden like spilled ink. By her calculations, sunset would arrive in under two hours. After that, the hunting spiders would emerge, and the temperature would plummet.
The Thicket's entrance loomed ahead—a twisted labyrinth of shadow and spine. Bimba's sensory hairs detected movement within. Not just wind. Something alive. Something watching.
A desperate cry pierced the storm: "Help me!"
Princess Scarlet's voice, deeper in the maze than Bimba anticipated. The fly plunged into the darkness, thorns scraping her exoskeleton as she navigated the narrow passages. Her amber eyes struggled to adjust.
Then she heard it—the mechanical clicking of mandibles. Territorial beetles. Dozens of them, blocking every path forward.
