Croco and the Berry Bandit
Chapter 1: The Rushing River

Croco the young crocodile was having the most wonderful adventure of his life! He had been traveling for three days now, following the winding path that led away from the Great Muddy River where he grew up. His green scales gleamed in the morning sunlight as he walked on his four strong legs, his tail swishing happily behind him.
"What a beautiful day to make new friends!" Croco said to himself, his big smile showing his pearly white teeth. He had packed his small brown bag with fish snacks and was ready for anything.
Sudddenly, he heard a terrible sound - CRACK! SPLASH! Up ahead, he saw a family of rabbits standing by a broken wooden bridge. The swift river below had washed away half of it during the night's storm. Mama Rabbit, Papa Rabbit, and three little bunnies all stood on their hind legs, looking very worried.
"Oh no!" cried Mama Rabbit. "How will we get across to Grandma Rabbit's house? She's expecting us for her birthday party!"
Croco's kind heart immediately wanted to help. "Don't worry!" he called out cheerfully as he approached on his four legs. "I'm Croco, and I'm great at swimming! Maybe I can help you cross!"
But as Croco looked at the rushing water, he noticed something that made his stomach flip. The current was much stronger and faster than any water he'd ever seen - even stronger than the Great Muddy River back home. Dark clouds were gathering overhead, and the water seemed to be rising.
"That's very kind of you, Croco," said Papa Rabbit nervously, "but this river is known for its dangerous currents. Even grown-up crocodiles stay away from it."
Croco stared at the churning water, his confidence wavering for the first time. Should he try to help even though it might be dangerous? Or should he play it safe and suggest they find another way? The rabbit family was counting on him, but his parents had always taught him to be careful around unknown waters.
Just then, the wind picked up, and they heard an even more troubling sound - the rest of the old bridge creaking ominously, ready to collapse completely.
