Star Builds a Bridge for Bumblebee

Star skipped along the Crystal Stream, her rainbow hair bouncing with each step. She spotted wildflowers—perfect for her next project! Her fingers traced the smooth pebbles lining the water's edge. "These would make excellent building blocks," she said, stuffing three into her overall pockets.

A tiny buzzing sound made her ears perk up. Across the stream, Bumblebee zipped in frantic circles. "Star! Star! Help!" his high voice squeaked.

Star's purple and blue eyes widened. "Bumblebee! How did you get over there?"

"I-I followed a pretty flower," Bumblebee stammered, his wings drooping. "I flew too far and now I'm too tired to fly back across!"

Star studied the Crystal Stream. The water rushed fast and deep—too dangerous for a small bee to cross. She adjusted her yellow hard hat and pulled out her toy hammer, tapping it against her palm. Her mind whirred with ideas.

Suddenly, dark clouds rolled overhead. Fat raindrops began to fall. The stream started rising, bubbling higher and faster. Bumblebee's worried eyes grew enormous as water splashed closer to his tiny feet.
