The Mystery of Seven Missing Snowballs
Chapter 1: The Frozen Riddle

Luna's silver bell jingled as she bounded through the Crystalline Forest, her breath forming clouds in the Arctic air. Her ice-blue eye caught something unusual—a small white fox shivering beside an enormous ice-covered boulder.
"Hello!" Luna howled excitedly, her tail wagging so hard her whole body wiggled. "I'm Luna! Are you lost?"
The fox's amber eyes widened. "I'm Pip," he said softly. "Not lost, but... stuck. The Ice Cave won't open, and without it, the forest animals have nowhere warm to shelter. Winter's getting colder."
Luna pressed her black nose against the boulder. Ancient symbols glowed faintly in the ice. "What does it say?"
"It's a riddle," Pip explained, his voice gaining confidence. "'Seven snowballs hold the key, but first you must count what you cannot see. Find the pattern in the snow, and the cave's warm heart will glow.'"
"Seven snowballs? Easy!" Luna's enthusiasm bubbled over. She started digging through nearby snowdrifts, her grey-patched ears perking at every sound.
Pip's tail drooped. "I've searched everywhere. There are no snowballs here."
Luna paused mid-dig. "Count what you cannot see? That doesn't make sense!"
Suddenly, the symbols flickered and went dark. A deep rumble echoed through the forest. Icicles began falling from the trees like frozen rain.
"The cave's magic is fading," Pip whispered. "We're running out of time."
